2011 Baja Love Ride Route


All Riders must reach all Pit Stops before their closing time, otherwise a SAG wagon will be available. Each night is BBQ, camping and good times.

  • RIDE DAY 1: Tuesday, March 22 - Estero Beach Resort
  • RIDE DAY 2: Wednesday, March 23 - Hacienda Ojos Negros
  • RIDE DAY 3: Thursday, March 24 - El Oasis in Valle de la Trinidad
  • RIDE DAY 4: Friday, March 25 - Playa del Paraiso Resort
  • FESTIVAL DAY 5: Saturday, March 26 - Playa del Paraiso Resort (optional)

Day One Route:

Rosarito Beach Hotel to Estero Beach Resort

Time: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Route Length: 56 Miles
Route Duration: 7 Hours

From Rosarito Beach Hotel to La Mision, then free (libre) road east over El Tigre and then back to Highway 1 to Ensenada, past Plaza Civica (3 Heads Plaza) to Esmeralda, then east to Reforma/Highway 1 then south to Estero Beach Resort.

  • Start - Rosarito Beach Hotel at 10:00 AM
  • Pit Stop #1 - Las Rocas Resort at 7 miles closes at 11:30 AM
  • Pit Stop #2 - Maganas Restaurant at 23 miles closes at 2:00 PM
  • Pit Stop #3 - Guadalupe road junction at 35 miles closes at 3:30 PM
  • Pit Stop #4 - Plaza Civica (3 Heads Plaza) at 51 miles closes at 4:00 PM
  • Finish - Estero Beach Resort at 56 miles closes at 5:00 PM



Day Two Route:
Estero Beach Resort to Hacienda Ojos Negros

Time: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Route Length: 36 Miles (17+ up hill)
Route Duration: 6 Hours

Riders will be transported from Estero Beach resort to playa plaza at the south end of Esmeralda (approx. 4 miles from Estero Beach). From their the ride heads directly east on Esmeralda up the hill to Highway 3, then over the pass to Ojos Negros. This is 17 miles of 3.0 - 7.5% grade over the pass to Ojos Negros valley.

  • Start - Playa Plaza 10:00 AM
  • Pit Stop #1 - Junction of Esmeralda at top of hill 2 miles closes at 11:30 AM
  • Pit Stop #2 - Gas Silza at 13 miles closes at 1:00 AM
  • Pit Stop #3 - Ojos Negros Pemex at 30 miles closes at 3:30 PM
  • Finish - Hacienda Ojos Negros at 36 miles closes at 4:00 PM



Day Three Route:
Hacienda Ojos Negros to El Oasis in Valle de la Trinidad

Time: 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM
Route Length: 45 Miles
Route Duration: 5.5 Hours

From Hacienda Ojos Negros the ride continues east on Highway 3 through rolling hills, low mountain roads and beautiful desert passing two small agricultural communities.
  • Starting - Hacienda Ojos Negros
  • Pit Stop #1 - Heroes de la Indepedencia at 19 miles closes at 10:30 AM
  • Pit Stop #2 - Valle de la Trinidad at 37 miles closes at 12:00 PM
  • Finish - El Oasis Orphanage in Valle de la Trinidad at 45 miles closes at 1:30 PM



Day Four Route:
El Oasis in Valle de la Trinidad to Playa del Paraiso

Time: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Route Length: 71 miles (majority downhill or near level)
Course Duration: 8.5 hours.

From Highway 3 at El Oasis in Valle de la Trinidad the ride continues east through some low mountains and curves. The road winds through the desert east on Highway 3, with a mostly downhill grade to the military checkpoint at the junction with Highway 5 at the northern tip of the Sea of Cortez. From their the ride will head south on the new Highway 5 four lane into San Felipe and the finish line.

  • Start - El Oasis in Valle de la Trinidad
  • Pit Stop #1 - Desert stop at 18 miles closes at 10:30 AM
  • Pit Stop #2 - Military checkpoint at 41 miles (Highway 5) junction closes at 1:30 PM
  • Pit Stop #3 - El Dorado Ranch at 63.5 miles closes at 3:30 PM
  • Finish - San Felipe Arches at 71 miles closes at 4:30 PM
